A nice view of Looking Glass Falls from Thursday's ride.

Nice 50ish Ford when we stopped for lunch.

An RT1200, Ducati Multi, Triumph Trophey, and a BMW XR1000. How do they expect me to keep up?

These guys don't slow down in the rain!!!

It might as well have been the Heart Attack Grill

A nice view point near the Tennessee end of the Dragon

Chad pulling in to the viewpoint

Nice Bike!!!

Those yellow Wings sure photograph well

On the North Carolina end are all of the gift shops

The tree of Shame.........luckily I'm not a contributor.

It's a windy road

Usually you see a lot of idiots crossing the double yellow in to oncoming. Not today, at least while I was out there. Nothing but fun!

At my age, it's probably my last visit. (sad)

Brandon and I went for a fun little ride this morning on some very twisty roads. We stopped for a short break so he could connect with his office.

I took a short walk around the place while he was connecting.

It sure is pretty here.

You don't find this offered at too many stations these days.

The obligatory picture at the top of the BRP

Even one with me on the bike.

Brandon let me try his new BMW XR1000. What a beast!

Cheryl and Donna enjoying the rocking chairs to the pitter patter of the rain

Donna just purchase this GMC. It is a very nice truck.

It came with personalized floor mats.

Every convenience known to man

Yesterday I impacted a section of hogwire fence that came off a truck in front of me. It did a lot of cosmetic damage to my new bike.

I didn't notice it until I went to wipe her down this morning.

Just thankful it didn't take me and the bike down.

Some good story telling going on here

You need to speak hillbilly if you want to understand them real good!

Dragon Fruit, at $5.98  a pound I won't be finding out how it taste.

Most of the group went to this fine Italian restaurant this evening. Very good food.

I usually try to avoid big cities, but riding through Atlanta, GA this morning it was stop and go all of the way.

Only a few of the many Skyscrapers across the city.

I got to pay a short visit with my friend Mark and his wife Wanda. They were in a horrific motorcycle accident last month and have both undergone many surgeries. They are a Christian family and have really come together to care for each other. Let's all keep them in our prayers for continued healing and comfort.

I wasn't sure what this was, but.......

....the paint job says it all.

I never saw this in the road as I had glance back to change lanes. I didn't know what happened when I hit it at 60 mph. It brought me to a halt real fast and then it took me about 15 minutes to detach it from my bike. A real pain and a real scare.

900' makes this the deepest canyon in GA.

Know as Tallulah Falls

I got caught in a downpour coming into town. The motel has been kind enough to let me park under the cover.

Sheila on her Brand New Can Am

Only some of the turnout for the first unofficial dinner of the SEVROC rally.

Me, oops! I've been Photo Bombed!

It's still raining, I sure hope it ends by tomorrow.

These goats like to hang out here on the mountain across the highway from the motel. I took this with 20x zoom. Maybe I can snatch one of Shannon's pics she took with her $45,000 lens.

I'm feeling much better today, but needed to make up a little distance that I lost yesterday. I find riding here in the south gets pretty uncomfortable when it hits 95 degrees and 470% humidity, so I put on the brakes around 3:00 o'clock in Oxford, AL. It's very close to the Talladega raceway hence the pics on my motel room wall. I'll do better tomorrow, I promise!

This is my only post for today. After eating a bad salad for dinner last night I've been very sick today. I only rode 88 miles and had to give up. Hopefully I will be feeling better in the morning and add a few more miles and pictures.

After riding at high altitude for a couple of days the bike thinks it can go a long way. In the readout it shows 100* and 300 miles of range.

Riding through Post, TX  it smelled a lot like the oil fields right in the middle of a neighborhood. I guess I wouldn't mind having one in my backyard either.

I liked this place, he had it all covered!

I had a knawing for BBQ when I got to Abilene. I rode 10 miles backtracking to find this place and found it was out of business.
No matter, another 10 miles and I found Al's Mesquite BBQ and Grill. Excellent!

I can't remember if this is Fort Worth of Dallas but it seems like everyone wants a space needle of some kind these days. BTW nice 63!
